Why did the Europeans explore the world?
Europeans started exploring because they wanted spices, wealth, gold, expand trade routes and change of religion. These men were willing to risk there lives in order to get spices and gain wealth. The main reason that they went out to explore was for spices because they were so valuable.
Spices Europeans used spices to flavour their food but, unfortunately spices did not grow anywhere near them so they were very valuable and if they could find a way to get them they would be very rich. Since, Europeans wanted spices but, spices were only found in Asian countries, they were very difficult to get and by the time they reached Europe the spices became very expensive because of how difficult they were to find and also because they had to be brought across thousands of miles. Spices had to be brought across dangerous mountains and deserts. The only alternative was to find a sea route to Asia, so Europeans set out in hope of finding a way to reach Asia.
